The New Inspection and Equality
Improving your Inspection Grade for Equal Opportunities
Date: 21 Apr 2010 (1 day)
Location: Marriott Hotel Maida Vale, London
Publicity: Download publicity & programme (PDF)
Intended audience:
All Managers and Staff with a remit for Equality and Diversity, Quality Managers, Senior Managers and all staff with responsible for implementing equality legislation.
Focus:
The New Inspection Framework has a much greater focus on equal opportunity. In addition, the inspection grade for equal opportunities (EO), for the first time, is a ‘limiting grade’. The grade will contribute to, and may limit, any of the other inspection grades including Leadership and Management, and Overall Effectiveness.
But what are inspectors looking for? What evidence will they consider when making judgements? What counts as outstanding? What is best practice in the sector?
This practical course will help you maximize the benefits of equality to your college, avoid litigation and improve your inspection grade for equal opportunities.
Purpose:
During this event you will:
- understand and review the key aspects that inspectors look for when judging equal opportunities under the new inspection framework
- explore how to more effectively embed equality in teaching and learning, curriculum planning and quality improvement activities
- consider what best practice colleges are doing for equality and diversity
- reflect on current practice and identify specific areas for action and development
A full set of course materials will be provided for delegates to use in their own institutions.
