Coaching Skills - A Practical Skills Programme

Intended audience:

Managers, Teachers, Staff Development Managers, Advanced Practitioners, Teacher Trainers and Mentors who want to use coaching skills, processes and techniques as part of their staff support and development responsibilities.

Focus:

Many managers and staff in have responsibilities for staff support and development.  The use of coaching as a methodology is increasingly being recognised as an effective and efficient way        to fulfil these responsibilities.  More conventional methods of staff development can prove expensive and are not always effective.  Coaching is a more tailored, informal, and cost-effective method of staff development.  Coaching can also aid teachers as part of classroom learning including using students as peer coaches.

This programme will define coaching, help you identify the main benefits and skills of coaching, and provide you with a range of coaching processes to consider.  It will also give you the opportunity to practice coaching, and reflect on the process as both coach and learner.
