Work Based Learning, Equality and the New Inspection Framework
Improving your inspection grade for equal opportunities
Intended audience:
Work Based Learning Managers, Co-ordinators and staff, managers and staff with a remit for Equality and Diversity, Quality Managers, and all staff responsible for implementing equality legislation.
Focus:
The New Inspection Framework has a much stronger focus on equal opportunities. There will be a significantly greater scrutiny of equality progress and practice. In addition, the inspection grade for equal opportunities, for the first time, is a ‘limiting grade’. The grade will contribute to, and may limit inspection grades for Leadership and Management, and Overall Effectiveness.
But what are inspectors looking for? What evidence will they consider when making judgements? What counts as outstanding? What is best practice in the sector?
This practical course will focus on the unique issues and challenges that work based learning providers face, and give you expert advice to help you improve your next Ofsted inspection grade.
Purpose:
During this event you will:
- discuss issues, solutions and best practice when promoting equality in a Work Based Learning context
- understand and review the key aspects that inspectors look for when judging equal opportunities under the new inspection framework
- consider the features of a ‘good’ equal opportunities policy
- explore how effective health and safety practice can be translated into effective Equality & Diversity practice
- reflect on current practice and identify specific areas for action and development
